orange listeners

Orange Listeners is a new concept that was developed to enhance culture change in the company. We have undergone several changes the past few years and are now ready to forge ahead together as a team. Orange Listeners is a programme for staff by staff that will enable us share ideas and concerns with our peers. Orange Listeners will be specially trained in communication skills in order to deal with every concern from all staff members.

Their main role will be to listen to staff and gather information at the grassroots level, liaise with management on behalf of staff, give feedback on issues discussed with management and share ideas that help to build trust.

Last month our first lot of 31 Orange listeners were taken through an induction session to kick start the programme. 

Driving culture change will involve a lot of openness and empowerment that will help to drive the company’s success. However, we all have to accept the social reality of the organization and commit to the values of the organization.

Here are just a few qualities of a good listener which all of us require from time to time, whether in the office or at home, or while with peers;

    • Open and honest
    • Good communicator both verbal and nonverbal.
    • Good listener –give feedback
    • Professional
    • Unbiased 
    • Objective
    • Integrity
